Kanaka Foundation in collaboration with PT Sumbawa Timur Mining through the School Assistance Program organized a writing Workshop for students from three schools in Hu’u District, Dompu, NTB, namely SDN 12 Hu’u, MI Miftahul Jannah Daha, and SMPN 1 hU’u.
This Workshop became a shared learning space for students to get to know and practice the basics of writing poetry and short stories (short stories). With facilitator assistance, students are invited to express their ideas, feelings, and experiences through a series of simple but meaningful words.
The atmosphere of the activity was warm and full of enthusiasm. The students look enthusiastic when trying to pour everyday stories into writing, some are inspired by family life, the school environment, to the surrounding nature. Some students also read his work in front of friends, creating an atmosphere of confidence and mutual respect.
Through this activity, students not only gain knowledge about writing, but also learn to explore their potential, exercise creativity, and increase sensitivity to the surrounding environment as a source of inspiration.
Kanaka Foundation together with PT Sumbawa Timur Mining hopes that this writing workshop can foster a love of literacy from an early age as well as being the first step in the birth of a generation of young writers from Hu’u District.
